how to waste 4.6 mio usd

Monday, February 20th, 2006

about 1 million fans just saw the rolling stones playing for free in rio de janeiro; well, at least thousands of them while the majority had to watch the show on various big video screens. the rollin methuselahs were happy about the city of rio and some telecommunications companies were forking out 4.6 mio USD to organize the show of their life. all the world and his brother were happy to catch a glimpse at mick jagger’s bastard and how he’s a look-a-like (…see his mouth is as big as…) and about 4000 VIPs willing to pose for photoshootings with the most recent cellphones.

giant spectacle, giant budget. ordinary indie-bands could go on tour for about 16 years nonstop. about 6.000 ‘ordinary’ band shows could be hosted - probably reaching about twice as much people; of course without the rock-elders and their brats, instead providing face-to-face interaction between the audience and the bands. the rolling stones’ gig could be projected onto videoscreens as well if desired…

today i got mail from thomas naslin, who just dicovered the output 64 remix clip ron & his 1541 - push my button by andrew [deco-vision.de] on arte (tracks / backstage - chiptunes).

ron & his 1541 videocap

and again, it’s too bad that video clip never has been finished ;(

anyway, thomas also sent me the url of the show, however it’s an abominable wmv file and in french only:

chiptune.com/files/videos/tracks-chiptunes.wmv

nevertheless it’s quite enjoyable, you’ll find the c64 remix by gebr. teichmann as well as a lot of other interesting stuff…

mac-users might install flip4mac quicktime components for a better handling of that ms-mediacrap
